Missions Around The World

One of our 6 core values at Carrubbers is “Reaching Others”. This involves sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with those around us in Edinburgh and in our nation but also to those in all nations.

One Bible passage that relates to taking the gospel beyond our own nation is:

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news'" Romans 10:14-15.  

It is this command from God that is the centre of our involvement with sending missionaries out from Carrubbers as well as associations with various missions organisations around the world.

We have a missions team that acts as a direct link between those we have sent out as missionaries and the wider church in order to ensure the church is well informed about how to support our missionaries and our missionaries receive the support they need.

As well as supporting our missionaries financially, we regularly pray for our missionaries including at our monthly prayer meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7pm-9pm.

We encourage church members to be involved in short term missions to expose many to missionary organisations and experiences, as well as look to help those responding to the call from the Lord to serve in missions, as they prepare for full time service.
