Carrubbers members participate in the Street Cafe, an outreach consisting of volunteers from a number of local churches. The aim of the Street Cafe is to take the Gospel out of the Church to the people. We live in a society where most people will not come into a church - therefore the church has a responsibility to take the gospel out to where the people are.
The Street Cafe takes place on Friday nights in the Cowgate and is aimed at reaching the pub-goers and clubbers. We provide free hot drinks and a literature table. The main focus is one-to-one conversations. Many people come back week after week as well so there are good opportunities to build relationships too. The same type of outreach is done at the pagan festivals Bealtaine and Samhain.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14)
Street Outreach is organised by and overseen by David Anderson & Eric J Scott.
