There is Hope. For some it is intangible, for many it is misplaced and for others it is non-existent;
everyone hungers for it. We have found everlasting hope in Jesus. Will we share it?
"How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone telling them?" (Romans 10:14)
During the Edinburgh Festival this August, Carrubbers will be transformed into a live music cafe where the gospel
will be shared in a direct, yet informal way. We are inviting different artists to share their songs, journeys and
testimonies and to join us in bringing the hope we have in Jesus to the city of Edinburgh and beyond.
Can this really be Hope ???
Hope is appreciating the present moment. It's that childlike sense that we kind of lose as we get older.
I don't really have anything to say about hope, I have never thought about it.
Hope says: let's try this thing one more time.
Where do I find hope?... I don't really know what to say.
Our Hope ...
The first time in my life that I understood the importance of having hope... was when I was a fresher in university. It would have been the first time that my world was opened up to the reality of who God really is.
So in the silence of it all, I guess I had a choice, do I kick out? Do I get angry? Do I get frustrated? Or, do I find something which is bigger, more stable, and stronger than the hope inside of me, because there wasn't much left.
If the resurrection of Jesus, if that's not real, then just find whatever hope you can, eat, drink, party, for tomorrow you die... whereas if Jesus actually died and rose again then we've got all the hope in the world, this thing is worth living for, it's worth dying for because it's not the end for us!
A lot of people know that I'm a big fan of U2, there's a line in one of their songs that says "I know I'm not a hopeless case". As much as I love U2, I have to pull them up on that... I am a hopeless case, and I am always going to be a hopeless case without my faith in Jesus Christ.
